Each twelvemonth Holy Family awards a number of scholarships and grants to incoming students. These awards ease tuition costs, while also rewarding students for their by success and future potential.

"We've put our coin where our mouth is with this program," says Scott Breimhorst, Vice President for Enrollment and School Partnerships. "We accept dedicated meaning financial resources to these scholarships to ensure a broad application of funds is possible."

For those who like difficult numbers, consider these facts:

  • 9X. Holy Family scholarship and grant offerings are trending up with many added during the last three school years. Students may apply for more than one scholarship in the areas they feel near appropriate. Most are awarded to multiple students each year.
  • 3 Categories. 1) Merit Scholarships are earned by students that accept already accomplished and excelled in eye schoolhouse, and show potential for future success. 2) Qualifying Scholarships are for students meeting specific criteria, such as coming from 1 particular middle school.  3) Grants are awarded to families meeting qualifying criteria.
  • Stackable and Renewable. Many scholarships and grants are awarded to multiple students each year. Also, well-nigh scholarships are renewable annually for four years, and students can utilise for up 2 different merit scholarships.
  • Lots of Zeros. Annual awards range from $500-$3,000. Multiply by four years, and they abound to several thousands of dollars in tuition savings!

"It is absolutely in every incoming ninth grader's best interest to utilise," Breimhorst adds. "With the diverseness of areas covered in our merit scholarship program, nosotros have the ability to reach many families. Why non give it a shot?"

Before breaking down each scholarship opportunity available to incoming students, here are some essential yet critical things to know:

  • Holy Family Enrollment. Before applying for scholarships or grants, students complete the Application for Enrollment . Incoming ninth-class students must as well take the High Schoolhouse Placement Exam given in January.
  • Categories. Scholarships are available for academic accomplishment, leadership, volunteerism, and involvement in extracurricular activities except for athletics.

AN EXCITING Message FROM PRESIDENT MICHAEL BRENNAN

The momentum at Holy Family unit Catholic High School has never been at such a heightened level since I stepped foot on campus almost five years ago.  Enrollment and fundraising numbers are both striking and surpassing almanac goals.

The spirit and free energy of our students in the extracurricular loonshit are unparalleled and a sight to be seen. Our unabridged Holy Family community has been lifted by a new bail grounded in unity and pride forged by the successful navigation of a schoolhouse year no one could have imagined.

With the scoreboard showing every indication of a win, the question I have been getting for the past few months is, "What's next, Mike?" Well, the truth is, there's quite a chip. What I can tell yous is we are not going to remainder on our laurels or become complacent. The status quo is not an option.

At Holy Family, we believe that every minute matters and time not spent planning for our future and designing pathways to support our students' very best loftier school experience is time wasted.

And while there are several irons in the fire heating upwards to achieve this stop, there is one that I am particularly excited to share with our Holy Family community.

It is truly a privilege and an award to announce that we are moving forward with a new capital campaign engineered to realize 2 distinct yet highly interconnected dreams for our school:

1. a significant upgrade and enhancement to our competitive athletic field and surrounding civilities, and

2. the restructuring of our debt to allow for increased investments in our educational programming, personnel, facilities, and, higher up all, the overall pupil experience.

That'southward right, Holy Family unit, the time is ripe and we could not be more excited to begin the fundraising efforts that will yield our very own field of dreams and a new fiscal paradigm that will effectively reduce our annual debt servicing obligations by one-half!

Overview of the complex

This bold plan, coupled with the generosity of benefactors, will fulfill the dreams of so many students, parents, alumni, donors, and friends who desire an activities complex that serves multiple sports programs, clubs, physical teaching classes, community gathering events, and outreach to our Catholic elementary partner schools.  It will also provide the resources to successfully restructure our debt – a necessary burden acquired in 1999 to buy these 72 acres of property and construct our existing facility and the school we all love.

When does this all happen?  It is happening at present.

For the terminal ii years, behind-the-scenes efforts of school leadership have involved both envisioning this finish goal as well as designing the mechanics to achieve it. In the terminate, the toll of the entire project will be 6.5 million dollars.

Two million dollars will be specifically directed towards reducing principal, dollar for dollar, and serving as a down payment in the restructuring of our debt in September 2022 when our bond becomes callable. 4.5 1000000 dollars will be used to apply synthetic turf to our competition field, install permanent bleachers for both home and away spectators, add restroom facilities, construct a community gathering plaza on "the loma," build a welcoming gated entrance into the complex, rework the concessions surface area, resurface the existing track, and add new lighting, fencing, and much-needed storage.

We will keep to aggressively raise dollars for the project until nosotros have commitments for the entire amount.  Our evolution team'due south goal is to identify all project dollars by October 2022 and consummate the activities complex past August of 2023.

Of course, breaking basis will directly depend on the success of these fundraising efforts.   We are confident and prayerful that our community volition go on to support the mission and vision at Holy Family and help us complete our largest edifice initiative since Holy Family unit opened its doors in the twelvemonth 2000.

I'll keep you updated on the status of the capital campaign with emails and article in future issues of Passages. If you lot'd like to find out how y'all tin exist a part of this campaign today, please contact our Chief Development Officeholder Jack Kelly at kellyj@hfchs.org.
